Symantec endpoint protection definitions not updating on client
Recently I had a client using System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP) who was having issues with Definitions not being updated across their enterprise.
They also had issues with trying to manually update the definitions using the GUI.
Updating the antimalware definitions in FEP/SCEP fails with error 0x80248014.
Clicking the Update button in the System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection client user interface fails with error 0x8024402c.
It appears that as I am on a provisioned VM from a central IT unit I cannot run the Symantec commands from the Run prompt as my admin creds to get me in.
(smc -stop) Basically I need to claw back some Diskspace from the c: drive which is being filed up with WSUS patches and Symantec files.
This is the folder where the definitions get updated from the SEPM.
This procedure does not work with single file installation packages.
You will also need copies of the latest Virus and Spyware definitions content from your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM).
I I need to know about how to update definitions for the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client using the file Following website is instructing to download from and copy it to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\inbox (I can't find inbox folder in to this path) But I have two problems with above solution 1)file is a zip file of which is a group of bunch of other files 2)I don't know where to copy these files after I extract them because there is no inbox folder.
and run it on the problem machine and it should update it immediately.
Regards, Pradeep Jhala Hi, It seems there is something wrong...
